This episode follows the Five-0 team as they face a powerful hurricane while safeguarding a dangerous criminal at headquarters. In the chaos of the storm, an assassin infiltrates the building, putting everyone at risk and pushing the team to their limits. Meanwhile, Tani and Junior find themselves in life-threatening situations far from the main group.
The episode opens with a tense start as Alejandro Vega, also known as "El Diablo," is arrested by the FBI just outside a local bakery. This isn't any ordinary arrest—Vega is a wounded serial killer and a notorious figure. At the same time, a massive hurricane is bearing down on Oahu, creating an atmosphere of dread and urgency.
While all of this is going on, Rachel and Charlie arrive at Danny's place to seek shelter from the approaching storm. It's clear from the beginning that everyone is bracing for a tough night.
"A hurricane is bearing down on Oahu."
McGarrett, ever the leader, sends out Tani and Junior to conduct safety checks, making sure everyone is evacuating and preparing for whatever the storm might bring.
With the storm getting worse, the FBI decides the safest place to keep Vega is at Five-0 headquarters. Unfortunately, this move attracts danger; a skilled assassin has been tracking Vega and manages to blend in with the civilians who were being evacuated to the Palace.
While Tani and Junior check on families, they encounter resistance. One couple refuses to evacuate, and things get tense fast when the man suddenly pulls a gun on Tani. Meanwhile, back at headquarters, the power suddenly fails, although the backup generator thankfully kicks in—Vega remains secure, but it's a sign that something is off.
That suspicion is quickly confirmed:
"Somebody sliced wires to the in-house cameras, and a deputy has been stabbed."
Grover and Jerry rush to help the deputy, Haku, who fights for his life. Jerry realizes he's seen the attacker before, based on a distinctive tattoo—a clue that will become important later.
As the Five-0 HQ deals with its own crisis, things get personal for Tani and Junior. Junior is unable to contact Tani, who, it turns out, has been tied up. Showing her resilience, Tani persuades the little girl, Emmy, to help untie her.
With her hands free, Tani manages to disarm Jameson, who had taken her captive at what turns out to be a criminal stash house. However, her troubles are far from over, as more thugs arrive on the scene. Tani proves tough, taking out two of them, while Junior—arriving just in time—finishes off the third.
Meanwhile, things spiral even further out of control inside Five-0 HQ. Thanks to Jerry's sharp memory, the team identifies the assassin as a member of a rival gang. His mission is clear: kill Vega, who has turned state's evidence. The stakes couldn't be higher.
The assassin starts pumping exhaust fumes into Vega's cell in an attempt to kill him, but McGarrett and FBI Agent Collins act quickly:
"McGarrett and FBI Agent Collins rescue and resuscitate Vega and move him to Steve's office."
However, the assassin isn't stopping; he kills several FBI agents and violently clashes with McGarrett in a dramatic fight. Steve ultimately triumphs, but during the struggle, Vega escapes in the elevator, creating even more chaos.
As the dust begins to settle, Vega, now on the run, tries to hotwire a car and escape. But there's one last twist—FBI mole Harris shows up, intent on killing Vega himself. In a tense moment, McGarrett intervenes and shoots Harris before any harm can be done to Vega.
Meanwhile, back at home, the storm outside might be calming down, but inside Danny's place, there's another kind of peace. Rachel and Danny fall asleep together on the couch, a quiet moment amid the chaos.
In the final scene, McGarrett drops by, teasing Danny about his cozy night with Rachel, bringing a touch of humor and warmth to the episode's end.
This action-packed episode of Hawaii Five-0 keeps viewers on the edge of their seats, mixing intense drama with heartfelt moments. The storm outside mirrors the chaos inside Five-0 HQ, while the team's bravery and quick thinking save the day—and each other.
"It's not just about catching the bad guys. It's about protecting everyone you care about—even when the world feels like it's falling apart."
